A five-alarm fire ravaged 14 businesses in Norwood early Saturday morning.
Nearly 200 firefighters were called to battle the blaze, which started at 3 a.m. on Bainbridge Avenue and East 204th Street. It took more than five hours to get the flames under control.
According to an FDNY spokesperson, four firefighters were treated for minor injuries.
Sal Mirra, the owner of Hillside Meat Market, which was destroyed in the fire, says the economic crisis had already taken a toll on his business, and now the blaze has made matters even worse.
FDNY officials say the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious.
