Schools in Yonkers, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, and Putnam Valley say they were all targeted in what appears to be a nationwide hoax.
They come just one day after a series of swatting incidents in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. On Thursday, it appears schools across new York were targeted.
Police are trying to determine who called in phony active shooter reports that prompted school lockdowns at school districts across our area.
In each instance, the caller was anonymous, and the threats were deemed not credible.
Real or not, the swatting incidents had parents, students and staff on edge.
