As New York's COVID-19 state of emergency comes to an end, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is also making some adjustments.

For commuters, this means they will no longer have to wear a mask on outdoor subway platforms and bus stations. However, you will still need to wear them on indoor platforms and while on board buses or trains.

The New York State Liquor Authority says pre-pandemic rules will return Thursday, so privileges for to-go and delivery of alcoholic beverages are ending.

The Department of State also tweeted out an announcement saying the executive order extending renewals for licenses through them will expire Thursday.

Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines remain in effect. Masks are still required in areas like hospitals, public transit, correctional facilities, nursing homes and shelters.
