The New York State Senate Democrats unanimously voted to reelect Andrea Stewart-Cousins as their majority leader.
The state senator has served as leader of the Senate Democratic Conference since December 2012.
She was the first woman and African American woman elected as conference leader in state history.
Stewart-Cousins says she's "honored and humbled" by the vote.
Senate Democrats are expected to begin the 2021 session in January with a supermajority.
