Nyack official issues statement in response to taking down Hamas hostage flyers

A Nyack Village administrator took to Facebook on Tuesday to explain why he was seen taking down Hamas hostage flyers in a social media post last week.
Andy Stewart directed News 12 to the online statement because he's sick.
The following statement was posted on the Village of Nyack's Facebook page Tuesday:
Village Mayor Don Hammond said he feels some commented before they knew all the facts.
"Understandable that people are that concerned but let's ask questions of each other rather than make accusations," said Hammond.
The posters have been put up throughout the Hudson Valley as a reminder to remember the hostages.
There have been instances where they have been taken down in Scarsdale and at SUNY-New Paltz.
