A police officer from the Bronx who joined the Army National Guard was killed in Afghanistan Wednesday.
Deon Taylor was killed during his second tour of duty in the region by a roadside bomb. He was 30 years old.
NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly expressed his deepest condolences.
?Like so many of his fellow officers, Deon Taylor courageously served his city at home and his nation abroad," said Kelly.
Taylor was a Bronx native and worked as an undercover narcotics cop in Brooklyn. He leaves behind two children and was engaged to be married next summer.
