NYPD: Body of missing Bronx woman found in Yonkers; suspect charged

NYPD detectives say they were conducting an investigation of a missing female from 2200 Morris Ave. when they found her unconscious and unresponsive in the vicinity of the Saw Mill River Parkway.

Police say the body of a missing woman from The Bronx was found Thursday morning in Yonkers.
Junior Perez Diaz, 46, was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping in relation to the incident, according to police.
NYPD detectives say they were conducting an investigation of a missing female from 2200 Morris Ave. when they found her unconscious and unresponsive in the vicinity of the Saw Mill River Parkway.
EMS responded to the location where they pronounced the woman dead. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
The discovery came after family sources of missing Pamela Alcantara told News 12 the body of a missing 26-year-old woman from The Bronx may have been found in Yonkers.
Sunilda Rubiera, Alcantara's mother, says she last spoke with her daughter on the phone early Sunday morning as she was coming home from a church event and was preparing for another event at a church in Connecticut later that day. She says Alcantara never showed.
