Newly released NYPD body camera and drone footage shows officers pursuing and arresting two minors after reports of gunfire in Belmont.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on May 21 near 2130 Washington Ave. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and deployed a drone to assist in the search for suspects.

The drone allowed operators to maintain sight of the two people from above while directing officers on the ground to their location, police said.

The operation led to the recovery of two loaded firearms, including one that was found inside a park.

A 13-year-old boy and a 17-year-old male were arrested in connection with the incident. Both face multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon and trespassing, according to the NYPD.

The department released the footage Saturday as an example of how drone technology is being used to support officers during investigations and help locate suspects in real time.
