People living in Orange County continued cleaning up their flooded homes and tallying up the damage Wednesday, four days after a powerful nor'easter pummeled the region.
Many streets in Warwick remained closed due to flooding. Town Supervisor Mike Sweeton says post-storm cleanup and repairs will set the town back more than $700,000.
Sweeton says Warwick, along with other towns and villages, will submit its damage estimate to the county, which may then ask Gov. David Paterson to declare Orange County a disaster area.
"We are hoping we meet the dollar threshold to get that declaration because then it will make us eligible for some FEMA assistance," Sweeton says.
