Hundreds of police officers stood shoulder to shoulder in front of St. Patrick?s Cathedral to say goodbye to a NYPD narcotics detective from New Windsor.
Griselda Espinal, 38, was stabbed and then shot last week by her estranged husband, Francisco. He then shot himself in front of his three children, neighbors and police. Colleagues remembered Griselda as a cop who would never shrink away from a dangerous situation. Friends and family looked back on the way she loved her children and accomplished her dream of becoming a police officer.
Espinal will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings. Her three children are now in the care of relatives.
