The number of students arrested in a gang fight at Ramapo High School has risen to 16, and officials say they're familiar with many of them from past incidents.
"We know the players. These are people we've dealt with in the past and certainly have identified this turf battle," says Chris St. Lawrence, the Ramapo town supervisor. "It's been an ongoing situation."
St. Lawrence says the 16 students who were arrested have been suspended for a five-day period and face stiffer school penalties, including expulsion. All the arrested students are due back in Ramapo town court later this month.
