Seven people were hurt, and 13 families were left displaced Thursday after a fire at a four-story residence in Yonkers.
Investigators believe a candle may have started the fire inside a second-floor bedroom at 74 Saratoga Ave.
The flames were put out in 30 minutes, according to fire officials. One resident and six firefighters were hurt during the fire.
The 13 families displaced are comprised of 33 people, including 10 children. The Red Cross is working to provide the displaced individuals with temporary housing.
The City of Yonkers has deemed the home unsafe to occupy. Fire officials also say they believe the building is an illegal apartment.
