A shooting in Stony Point on Tuesday that left two people dead is being described as a murder-suicide.
Stony Point police say before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, a man called in that "his friends shot themselves."
Police found 38-year-old Sean Kelly and 35-year-old Colleen Williston dead in an upstairs bedroom in their home at 54 Rosetown Road in Tomkins Cove.
Authorities say the investigation shows Kelly shot Williston before turning the gun on himself.
The police say they are still trying to figure out what could have led to this, including whether it's tied to a complaint made a few days earlier.
Officials say Kelly made a report to Stony Point police on Saturday involving Williston and their two children, which ultimately led to Rockland County Child Protective Services being notified.
Police add that the investigation was still happening at the time of the deadly shooting and the two kids were not in the home - nor in the parents’ custody then.
They are still investigating.
Tuesday’s shooting is the fourth deadly domestic-related incident in Rockland in just as many months.
