Police say a Stony Point man was arrested on Monday and is facing charges after he lied saying he'd been shot in the arm by a small caliber rifle.

They say 43-year-old Justin Bass was charged with criminal mischief.

Bass made the report to Town of Haverstraw police who looped them in due to Bass claiming he was shot. An investigation determined Bass was never shot and cut his own arm by punching out a window during an argument.

He is due back in Stony Point Justice Court late this month.
