Old computers that would ordinarily get thrown out are getting a reboot to help people in Rockland County.
The county government just upgraded its computers, so it donated about 300 older models to organizations that need them, including the Salvation Army, the Martin Luther King Community Center and the Rockland BOCES.
Students will refurbish them and then donate them to families in the district that need them for remote learning.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day says they update their computers about every year, and since the computers wouldn't sell for much, investing them back into the community is a no brainer.
