On A Positive Note: Marty Lyons Foundation bringing smiles to sick kids for 40 years

Marty Lyons, of the Marty Lyons Foundation, has been granting wishes to sick children for 40 years, and until there are cures, the local foundation will keep doing it.
Since 1982, Lyons says it's granted over 8,100 wishes.
"We create memories, we create hope, We're an extension of modern medicine. They can only do so much and we come in and we provide hope," Lyons says.
Lyons says they're making an impact on families going through the hardship of having an ill child.
He says on one occasion, they granted a Bellport girl's wish to meet rapper Post Malone and it was the day of her life. On another occasion, they took a Manhasset girl with leukemia to Disney World.
"When all is said and done, we really want to make this world a little bit better," Lyon says. "Until they find a cure, until all these kids can live a normal life, the foundation will be here."
