Medical marijuana growers are hoping to set up shop in the Hudson Valley.
Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus says he was approached by the state to consider three potential growers who wish to open their businesses in Warwick or Newburgh.
Neuhaus says he's open to the idea since medical marijuana use is now legal in New York. He says he has met with patients who would greatly benefit from the drug.
The whole process will be monitored closely by New York State, which plans to license five organizations to produce and dispense medical marijuana.
