Ossining village officials are still considering whether or not the parklet program will continue.
The parklets are removable platforms that extend the sidewalk by turning parking spots into public amenity spaces.
Businesses say it’s not only great for them, but also for the community.
The mayor says it's up for debate because a board member asked whether or not the program will continue.
"It doesn't hurt the community; it helps the community. It helps people have a place to hang out and enjoy the sun as the weather improves," says Michelle Imbiano, an Ossining resident.
"I believe it's time to move on and move forward and not have the parklets," says Robert Fritsche, a village trustee.
The parklets were put in place during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Village officials say it was meant to be temporary.
Village officials were also discussing how much they would charge businesses for the parking spots that are part of the parklets.
