New government funding will help local leaders reduce the impact of extreme weather events in the Hudson Valley.
The $11 million was made available through FEMA's hazard mitigation grant program.
The funding was reserved for the state following President Joe Biden's major disaster declaration after more than six inches of rain fell in parts of Westchester in a 24-hour period last fall.
