Hard hit areas in Westchester included the northwest section of Yonkers, Scarsdale, Rye, Briarcliff Manor, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle. Many of these areas may not see power restored until later this afternoon.
In Rockland County, Pearl River is just one of the communities that got slammed.
And in Dutchess County, 10% of Central Hudson's customers were in the dark after more than 200 different locations were damaged.
News 12 meteorologists say it is going to be extremely hot again today so it's going to be rough without air conditioning.
All the power companies say their crews have been working throughout the night and continue to try and get those power lines fixed.
