Several parents from North Salem’s middle and high schools are complaining about brown water and mold.
News 12 is told the matter has been ongoing for several years with conditions remaining stagnant.
According to the parents, inquiries to school officials have gone unanswered.
The school district says it would like to get started on a water filtration project, but it would require the county’s approval first.
A letter from the district say, “While awaiting DOH approval we have prequalified vendors who are on the state contract list. This will allow us to award the project and begin the work promptly upon receiving approval to proceed."
School officials tell News 12 that parents with concerns should contact them.
