A Hudson Valley couple is speaking out about a frightening accident that almost claimed the lives of their children in the hope that they can help prevent a similar situation.
Jennifer Williams' boys, Eli and Shane, were just 5 and 12 years old when their baby sitter lost control of their utility task vehicle, or UTV.  The kids, who weren't wearing seatbelts or helmets, suffered broken bones, skin burns and head injuries.
The boys, who live in Fallsburg, stayed more than two weeks at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Westchester last year, where they had skin grafts and nearly a dozen surgeries combined.
Thankfully now, they are happy and healthy kids who, along with their parents, want their story to be the last one like it.
"It only takes a second to put on a seatbelt. It only takes a second to put on the helmet,” says father Simmie Williams.
