Party City is closing down all of its stores, the company announced just days before the holidays.
Employees at a Long Island location told News 12 they would stay open until next month.
CEO Barry Litwin told corporate employees Friday in a meeting viewed by CNN that Party City is “winding down” operations immediately, and that today will be their last day of employment.
The closure comes after stores have struggled for business since the pandemic, plus supply chain issues and inflation.
Party City has been in business for nearly 40 years.
