A passerby found a man?s body Tuesday underneath the Route 59 overpass near South Central Avenue in Spring Valley.

Police are trying to determine the victim?s identity and the cause of death. A program called Helping Hands is a charity for day laborers in the area. Volunteers say they believe the body found under the bridge was that of a man they recently met.

Detectives with the Spring Valley Police Department are asking anyone with information to call 356-4229.
