The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office will retry a Pawling man in a 2024 fatal stabbing case.
Giuseppe Vassallo, 45, was charged with two counts of murder in the stabbing death of 42-year-old Nathaniel Viera inside his Pawling home. Investigators say the stabbing happened after an argument.
Last week, a jury acquitted Vassallo of one count of second-degree murder and attempted murder. However, they could not reach a verdict on a second count of second-degree murder and attempted robbery.
Both sides will be back in court in December, but no second trial date has been sent.
