On Saturday, animal lovers gathered at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights to celebrate Paws Crossed Animal Rescue's 10th anniversary.

The event kicked off with a 5K Run/Walk around the park at 10 a.m. Following the race, attendees shuffled up to the festival where there was live music, animals for adoption and pet accessories for sale.

CEO Jennifer Angelucci says she expected anywhere from 500 to 600 people to show up.

"The main goal is just to thank our community. Everyone is coming together – people who have adopted from us, people who have donated, people who have shared our mission. Just everybody coming together to share 10 years in rescue," said Angelucci.

She also told News 12 that there was no fundraising goal for the day, but that all proceeds raised would go back toward the shelter.
