The Pearl River High School community was in shock yesterday after learning that two students were involved in a serious car accident.
Police say 17-year-old Steven Lowney was driving a 2002 Honda Accord during a rain storm earlier this week when it struck a guardrail, went off the road and rolled down an embankment onto Veterans Memorial Drive.
Lowney was OK after the accident but his passenger, 15-year-old Justin Rogers, is in critical condition at Nyack Hospital after having one of his legs severed as a result of the crash.
