Two women were injured after a driver struck them in a crosswalk in Mamaroneck, police said.

Police said an 86-year-old man was making a left turn from East Prospect Avenue onto Mamaroneck Avenue around 5:37 p.m. Wednesday when he hit a 28-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman who were crossing the street.

Both pedestrians were conscious and alert when officers arrived and were taken to White Plains Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police issued the driver summonses for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. He was also arrested after officers found a forged New York state vehicle registration and impounded the vehicle.

The arresting officer will request a DMV review of the driver's ability to continue driving, police said.
