Peekskill man pleads guilty to gun charge in connection with fatal Yonkers bar shooting

A Peekskill man has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of criminal possession of a weapon in connection with a fatal Yonkers bar shooting, according to the New York State Unified Court System website.
Yaquba McGougain was arrested following a fatal shooting outside a bar on Yonkers Avenue in February 2022.

The incident resulted in the death of Antonio Antoine-Fils, an employee of the bar. A bouncer was also injured during the shooting.
According to authorities, McGougain was present inside the bar and was subsequently ejected following an altercation. Subsequently, video footage captured him returning to his car and then walking back to the bar while apparently carrying a gun.
McGougain will be sentenced in September.
