A Westchester opera singer recently gave the performance of a lifetime -- but not the kind you might expect.
Emily Geller Hardman gave birth to her daughter in a car on the side of a New Jersey highway.
Emily and her husband Travis were at a wedding in Pennsylvania when her water suddenly broke.
They thought they had enough time to drive home and give birth at a local hospital, but their daughter, Rosemary had other plans.
Within just a few hours, she was born.
"Certainly, it did not occur to me that the baby would just pop right out while Emily was in the backseat by herself," says Travis Hardman.
"Yea, I mean, hindsight. Like, I wouldn't wish laboring or giving birth in a car to anyone," said Emily Hardman.
Rosemary was born perfectly healthy and is now at home.
