Westchester County police say one person was arrested after a car chase that ended in a quiet Eastchester neighborhood Monday.
Police said the incident began on the Hutchinson River Parkway northbound around 10:30 a.m. when officials say tried to pull the car over, but the driver refused to do so.
The driver took the exit to Webster Avenue in New Rochelle and continued toward Eastchester.
"When we drove by we saw like four police emergency vehicles," said Eastchester's Victor Maldonado.
The driver then attempted to bail out of the car near the intersection of Charles Place and Oregon Avenue right next to Chester Heights Park in Eastchester, according to officials.
Police found three girls, all under the age of 18, at the scene who were inside the car at the time of the incident. It’s unclear what their role was or if they are facing any charges.
Officials eventually located the unnamed driver on the shoulder of the Hutchinson River Parkway trying to flag down passing cars. He was arrested on criminal possession of stolen property charges.
"Once in a while you know, the biggest thing you hear is the accidents on the Cross County but this incident today from what I was told they saturated this entire area," added George Meehan, Eastchester.
Police said they did not recover any weapons tossed from the car despite originally believing that might have occurred.
The car was originally stolen in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
Westchester County, New Rochelle, Eastchester and New York State police all assisted with the investigation.
