There's a long tradition of parents taking their babies for professional pictures - and an equally long tradition of those children not cooperating.
Westchester photographer Mary Jane Farnsworth and her business partner Yvonne Tully have figured out a way to create professional-style photos of your baby with a new app.
The pair say they created Baby Box Studio after a less than successful session with a frazzled mom and her newborn.
"I just kept thinking to myself, like, 'Why can't I carry all these little tools that I have in my kit for the everyday parent so they can bring it out when the baby is at their best,'" says Farnsworth.
And that's what she did.
Proud parents just need to snap a few pictures of their little angel with their smartphones at their convenience, and simply run the pictures through the app to pick a professional-looking background.
"You don't have to have great photography skills to be able to use this. This is for the novice who knows how to work a smartphone," says Tully.
