A Piermont couple is dealing with the fallout of their scandalous appearance on a nationally televised program.
Lauren Cleri appeared as a contestant on Fox's "Moment of Truth." Before going on air, contestants are asked revealing questions while hooked up to a polygraph. They are then put on camera, asked about half of the questions again and rewarded for truthful answers. As the prizes increase, the questions become more personal. Cleri's responses to the later questions have put her marriage in jeopardy.
Cleri admitted to cheating on her husband and wishing she had married an ex-boyfriend instead of New York City cop Frank Cleri, who was seen on camera burying his head in his hands. The woman then went on to lose the prize money by giving a false answer of "yes" when asked if she thought she was a good person.
News 12 Hudson Valley visited the couple's apartment Thursday, but no one answered the door. The episode has become a hot topic in the community, and many Piermont residents say they are disgusted by the program, which they call exploitive.
