Police arrested a Pine Bush pharmacist Wednesday for allegedly stealing drugs from the pharmacy where he worked.
According to investigators, 33-year-old Danny Scarano stole $17,000 worth of hydrocodone pills, more commonly known as Vicodin, over a period of about a year from Hannaford pharmacy. Police say Scarano was caught on camera swallowing the pills on the job.
Hannaford's communications director says there are strict quality control procedures in place at the pharmacy, and every dosage and drug interaction is monitored by a computer.
Hannaford's representatives say Scarano is no longer employed by the pharmacy. Scarano has been charged with felony grand larceny.
