A serial graffiti vandal is targeting pizza places across lower Westchester County.
So far, the vandal has tagged six pizza joints, leaving behind a signature spray-painted pepperoni and green pepper slice.
4 Corners Pizzeria owner Joe DelBalzo says his Pelham business was tagged last Tuesday.
"I initially thought it was pretty interesting, pretty cool," says Joe DelBalzo, owner of 4 Corners Pizzeria. "Maybe he's a customer who really likes our pizza, so he's kind of showing his passion for art."
Pizzeria La Rosa and Modern Restaurant & Lounge in New Rochelle were both targeted, as was Villaggio Pizzeria located across the street from the Tuckahoe Police Department.
Cosimo & Johnny's in Eastchester was likely the first to be hit in late April. The pizzeria has since removed the graffitti. Villagio Ristorante in Pelham was also hit.
To stop copycats, DelBalzo is inviting artists to draw on a chalkboard inside his business. New Rochelle police says the perpetrator of the graffiti could face a criminal mischief charge that could result in a fine or up to one year in prison.
