Another plan is in the works to reimburse drivers who rack up repair bills due to potholes.
A new bill introduced this week by Pearl River Assembly Member Mike Lawler would allow drivers to claim a $1,000 tax credit for tires blown out by potholes.
The taxpayer may be required to show proof of their blown-out tires to the state tax commissioner, under the legislation.
If enacted, the credit would take effect in the 2022 tax year.
