There's hope for commuters who travel along Route 9A as plans to repave sections of the pothole riddled roadway are set to happen in the spring.
James Picciano, a commuter who has been pushing to get the road repaved, met with Sen. Pete Harckham Wednesday to discuss plans. Harckham helped appropriate $3 million to study the stretch of road.
"We really need the study to know what the structural repairs and design needs to be. We know the drainage is no longer capable of handling the amount of storm water we are getting," says Harckham.
Harckham says the Department of Transportation will begin sections of Route 9A in the spring.
"The road is old and in poor condition, but we are moving forward," says Harckham.
