Police: 2 Bristol officers killed, 1 injured after being lured to home by suspect

Two Bristol police officers were killed and one was injured after a suspect allegedly deliberately lured the officers to a home on Redstone Hill Road Wednesday night, authorities say.

Two Bristol police officers were killed and one was injured after a suspect allegedly deliberately lured the officers to a home on Redstone Hill Road Wednesday night, authorities say.
Police say a 911 call was made in a deliberate act to lure law enforcement to the home. Police believed it was a domestic dispute call between two brothers, Nicholas and Nathan Brutcher. When police arrived, News 12 is told they were immediately met with open gunfire.
Investigators say Officer Alex Hamzy died at the scene. Sgt. Dustin Demonte was taken to Bristol Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officer Alec Iurato was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford for surgery to his gunshot wounds.

Police say the suspect, Nicholas Brutcher, who is 35 years old, also was killed on the scene. His brother, Nathan, was taken to St. Francis for treatment.
Demonte leaves behind a wife, who is pregnant, and two children. Hamzy leaves behind a wife.
