Two people were killed in a Bridgeport shooting early Tuesday morning, according to police.
Police say it appears the two had shot each other.
Authorities responding to a ShotSpotter notification arrived on Carleton Avenue to find a 21-year-old from Ansonia lying in the street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also found Will Jordan, 30, of Bridgeport lying in a driveway with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and later died.
Ava Wilson, Jordan's longtime friend and neighbor, says the gunshots woke her up.
"It was just a sad sight. It was just a very sad sight. It was emotional," Wilson says.
Police say two firearms were recovered at the scene, where there is now a vigil for Jordan.
Wilson says the incident underscores why people should not use guns to settle disputes.
"It has been sad for all of us here because we did lose a part of our community here on this street," says Wilson.
Police say the shooting was an isolated incident and what led to the dispute is under investigation.
