Two people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds Wednesday afternoon after a high-speed drive-by shooting in Orange County.
Newburgh police say the gunfire started around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of William and South William streets.
That violent scene unfolded while witnesses say children were playing on the sidewalk.
Authorities say the male victims, who are 21 and 29 years old, are in stable condition.
There is no word on whether a suspect is in custody.
Police say at least 13 shots were fired during an unrelated shootout just a block down, less than two weeks ago.
