An investigation is underway into two robberies that occurred Friday night in New Rochelle.

Police say the first incident took place on Lockwood Avenue at around 9:39 p.m.

The victim was in his driveway working on his vehicle when a male suspect approached from behind and struck him.

He then took several personal items including a gold chain, a phone and credit cards.

A store on Union Avenue was robbed 30 minutes later, according to authorities.

Police say the suspect took the phone of a store clerk who attempted to call police and threatened him.

The man proceeded to flee the scene after the clerk gave him $150 in cash.

It is unclear if the two incidents are connected. Anyone with information is urged to call 1-914-632-COPS.
