A 69-year-old man crossing the street in Yonkers was fatally struck by a car this morning, according to police.

Investigators say a car was heading eastbound on Fort Hill Avenue at Young Avenue when the man was struck.

The man, a Yonkers resident, died at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene.

Police say they are investigating this as an accident.
