Police say they have arrested eight alleged gang members who are responsible for beating and stabbing a man in Newburgh.
Authorities say the suspects left the victim for dead on the corner of First Street and Robinson Avenue Monday. Detective Sgt. Tim Toomey, of the Newburgh Police Department, says the man suffered severe head trauma and skull fractures.
Police say four of the eight suspects are younger than 16 years old and one is 12 years old.
According to investigators, Monday's attack may have been prompted by last month's machete attack involving rival gangs.
