A man accused of abducting a young woman in Wallkill is now in custody.

Wallkill police say the suspect and a woman believed to be involved in the alleged abduction were picked up a short time ago in Wurtsboro.

A store clerk at a Mobil Mart in Fair Oaks says the victim mouthed, "Call 911" to him and surveillance stills of the suspect were released Monday. Police thought the victim could be a missing Pennsylvania mother, who has ties to Orange County, but that does not appear to be the case.

The woman who claimed she had been abducted has been found safe.
