Police arrest man suspected of assaulting pregnant girlfriend

Ramapo police said they arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend last Friday.
Officers responded to a call from the alleged victim who claimed her boyfriend hit her with a broom, punched her in the back of her head and cut her with scissors before taking her phone and fleeing the scene.
The suspect was later found in New City and apprehended by authorities.
The man now faces multiple charges, including assault and strangulation.
