Police say two arrests were made this weekend in connection to the multi-vehicle crash in Dutchess County that shut down Route 9.
Police say they were chasing a BMW sedan after its occupants tried to steal money from a Key Bank in Fishkill.
Authorities say the BMW crashed into a mini school bus and then overturned into a ditch off Route 9 in Wappingers Falls. The bus slammed into the back of another BMW SUV.
Officers say the two suspects inside the fleeing car and several on the bus were treated at area hospitals for minor injuries and released.
Bronx residents Destiny Smith and Jomo Cole, the driver and passenger of the car, were arrested. They face misdemeanor charges including conspiracy, fleeing an officer and reckless endangerment.
Police say they were released with an appearance ticket.
