The suspect wanted in a slashing in Harrison this morning is no longer in the area, according to authorities.
County police say two men, known to each other and traveling together in the same car, got in a dispute at a gas station on the Hutchinson River Parkway around 5:30 a.m.
One slashed the other with a knife, or another sharp object, and fled on foot. Police from various municipalities, along with K-9 units and helicopters, were looking for a Hispanic male wearing jeans and a brown shirt.
While they are no longer searching the adjacent area, Westchester County police are now in charge of the investigation. They add that they're confident there is no danger to the community.
The victim went into the store at the station to get help. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital with a laceration to his hand.
