A Greenburgh resident was struck by a car Sunday evening and is in critical condition, according to police.

The incident occurred at the intersection of South Central Avenue and Marion Avenue.

The 57-year-old woman, who was walking her dog, attempted to cross South Central Avenue in the crosswalk after traffic had stopped.

As she crossed, a 53-year-old driver exiting 300 South Central Ave. made a left turn onto the roadway and collided with the pedestrian.

The driver remained at the scene and was cited for failing to yield to the pedestrian's right of way in the crosswalk.

The injured pedestrian was transported to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.
