Police have identified the person killed in a crash on the state Thruway in Woodbury earlier this week.
Authorities say 25-year-old Sama Exantus, of Monroe, pulled onto the shoulder of the road just after passing Exit 16. They say when he was getting back on the road, he didn't yield the right of way to a tractor-trailer, which was heading south on the same lane.
State police: Driver killed in Thruway crash involving tractor-trailer
The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn't able to stop or avoid hitting the car.
Exantus was pronounced dead at the scene.
