The Haywood County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina released audio of a 911 call made to them this week.
The nearly 4 1/2-minute call was made by a man who says he was flagged down by Brian Laundrie this weekend near an Appalachian Trail.
The caller says, "He was talking wild. He said his girlfriend loved him and he had to go out to California to see her and he was asking me how to get to California, and I said you can get on I-40 right there drive west you'll get there, and he said no I think I can go this way and kind of left, but he was acting funny."
The caller went on to say he wasn't sure what Laundrie looked like but when he pulled up pictures of the 23-year-old he was 99.9% sure that's who he talked with.
